As a SHO NUT authorized reseller, we are able to offer the original aluminum cup style subframe bushings. Stock subframe bushings flex which affect your car's handling under hard cornering and braking. Aluminum subframe bushings eliminate flex between the car body and subframe. Additionally, these bushings provde a much larger contact area which reduces stress in the unibody. The SHO NUT cup design is our personal favorite as it provides a larger bearing area than a "ring style" subframe bushing. This becomes critical if your car has any rust in the mount points to reduce the posibility of metal failure or "punch through" of the unibody or subframe. Aluminum subframe bushings will increase the noise and vibration felt in your car. It is still tolerable for a daily driver, but it is not the soft ride of an original Taurus. If you still want to improve your performance with a softer ride, consider using Gen 3 rear subframe bushings. SHO NUT Aluminum Subframe Bushings are highly recommended for SHOs that are aggressively driven or see track duty. Tech Notes Aluminum subframe bushings require some minor modification to the subframe to remove the old subframe bushings. Difficulty of installation is a 3 out of 10. You need two sets of the subframe recall kit to correctly install SHO NUT cup style subframe bushings, unless you alread have the recall kits installed.
