We offer hand-ported and polished intake runners and manifolds as a less-expensive alternative to extrude honing. Some believe hand-porting is superior to Extrude Honing due to imperfections in the castings which can be otherwise going unnoticed by the Extrude Hone process. The tanks can also be gasket matched to the runners to get the most out of your ported runners.
Larger intake runners and butterflies helped improve TQ by reducing the turbulence layer normally present at the wall of the intake runner. The roughness of the intake runner wall creates a turbulent layer with very little airflow. By smoothing out the roughness and enlarging the cross section of the runner, Larger Intake Runners effectively increases the intake runner’s efficiency in delivering more air to the cylinder head. As a result, the volumetric efficiency of the engine goes up, improving TQ.
We will also paint your intake in a very durable ceramic paint in your choice of Red, Black, White, Blue or Aluminum. The runner color will match the lettering color. We are not filling in the letter colors.
If you option for no painting do not send the crossover tube, but if you want painting please send it.
We offer 3 different stages:

Stage 1: Gasket matching with mild porting.

Stage 2: Same as above but with full porting as far as can be reached in the runners. Secondaries will be opened significantly.

Stage 3: This is the next best thing to Extrude Honing. An Acid is used to port out the intake, to smooth everything out. Then a light porting is done after to gasket match and smooth everything out. Acid will not be used in the tanks. This may take 3-4 weeks to ship.
The Tanks: As an option we will gasket match the Tanks so that you will get the most out of the porting job. In stock the form the tanks and runners do not match up.

- We also offer chrome nuts to give new like to your intake.
- If you purchase BBB's, gaskets and intake couplers we can aseemble the intake together so all you need to do is bolt in and go.

We have cores for porting, due to the different intakes, we may not always have the required intake in stock. You do have the option to have your intake ported. Expect 2-4 weeks for porting your intake and around 2 weeks then a week when using our cores.
Tech Notes
BBBs should be done at the same time as a ported intake.The BBBs are pointless unless you have a ported intake to go with them.

All intakes MUST be separated and apart and ready to be ported before shipping. If any disassembly work needs to be done there will be a $125.00 charge assessed to disassemble them, this charge must be paid before your intake is returned.
Further more, SHO Source LLC and Custom Performance Systems will not be responsible for any attached parts or hardware that is not being modified or needed for the modification service, (bolts, nut, washers, brackets, hoses, clamps, secondary butterflies, throttle bodies, D.I.S. ect.).
Your intake MUST be clean. Remove all major dirt and grease. If this is not done there will be a $50.00 cleaning charge assessed before the intake is returned.
