Every 60k you need to replace your wires. Why not upgrade to a better set of wires that are cheaper then the stock Motorcraft wires. These wires are 8.2mm as opposed to a stock 7mm. The wires are much more heat resistant then the stock wires and will last longer.
Just replacing your wires regularly will help with idling and gas mileage.

The wires have a low 50ohms per foot.
The wires have a 100% 2 layer silicon jacket.
The wires have a ferrite spiral wound coated core.
