If you want to run coilover springs with your struts, you discovered that stock trut mounts will not work. The stock mounts have a rubber center which does not adequately support the top of the coilover springs. Also, the stock mount does not give you enough camber or caster adjsutment for track use.
Enter the SHO Source Camber Caster Plate. This plate is custom designed to fit the stock strut mounting location. This means you can still use your strut tower brace without modifications. Also, our camber/caster plates were designed for use with coilover springs (they will not with with stock style springs).
The upper mount consists of an adustable center spherical bearing housed in an annodized billet aluminum mount. This mount can be moved within the upper aluminum camber plate to adjust camber. Camber range limits are not yet set, but you should have more adjustment than you could ever use. The aluminum camber plate is contained between the strut tower and the steel retaining plate. The Camber plate is slotted so you can also adjust caster by moving the entire plate in relation to the strut tower. Load is transferred from the spring to the strut tower through the sliding thrust bearing in your Ground Control Coilover Kit (sold separately), so you are not overloading the spherical bearing. All this might sound Greek to you, but this camber/caster plate set up is modeled after plates used on race cars to give full range of adjustment while maintaining a rigid and strong mount.
Tech Notes
These camber caster plates are for use with coilover kits only.
